Central Team 3 (CT3) addresses the renovation of existing buildings.
A central focus is on deep renovation goals, with the aim of achieving these through the use of renovation passports and financing. The team is also working on the tracking of the implementation of renovation measures in connection with deep renovation targets. Deep renovations that exceed standard requirements will be encouraged through incentives and organisational support to surpass minimum energy performance standards (MEPS). Measures to improve the building structures as well as the technical building systems (TBS) play a role in the approach to renovation measures, whereby the energy efficiency first principle has a high priority.
In the context of existing buildings and renovation, the team also covers the topic of national building renovation plans (NBRP), thus supporting the Member States in completing a challenging task set by the EPBD.
